Areas of Specialization/Research
Dr. Navarre is currently Extension Veterinarian with the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center. The LSU AgCenter veterinary extension program focuses primarily on field investigations of disease outbreaks in livestock and providing current livestock disease information to veterinarians, agents, producers and 4-H/FFA youth. Veterinary extension personnel also work closely with the Department of Agriculture and Forestry’s Animal Health Services, and the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine on livestock health issues including emergency/disaster preparedness and foreign animal disease programs. |
Professional Experience
Dr. Navarre was in private practice in Texas following graduation from veterinary school. She joined the Food Animal Section at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital in 1994 where she spent 11 years providing clinical service and teaching of food animal and camelid medicine and surgery. In 2005 she returned to LSU as the extension veterinarian. |
