Second Annual Fall Heirloom Bulb Sale

Saturday, September 27, 2008

9:00 a.m. til Noon

Randle T. Moore Center
3101 Fairfield Ave.
Shreveport, La.

It was a winner! The Master Gardeners’ 2007 Heirloom Fall Bulb Sale sold over 4,000 bulbs in record time, causing a demand for more. So more it is…a lot more!

Master Gardeners have searched old cemeteries and the vacant lots of old country homes for these flowering treasures. It seems like old bulbs are in high demand and are not readily available on the retail market. So thousands of bulbs, many of them of the hard-to-find varieties, will be available for purchase by the general public at very reasonable prices.

Many varieties of Southern and heirloom bulbs will be offered, including: rare white spider lilies, oxblood (school house) lilies, tiger lilies, an assortment of daffodils and glads in two new colors, Parrott (red-yellow ) and Texas Snow Flurry (white). These are the hardy heirloom glads or Byzantine glads. There are also hoop petticoats and Spanish bluebells to name but a few of the variety of bulbs that will be available.

This is your opportunity to have these hard-to-find heirloom bulbs blooming in your yard and garden next spring. A free help desk will be staffed with Master Gardeners to answer your gardening questions

Be sure to attend the Master Gardeners' Second Annual Fall Heirloom Bulb Sale.
