In the past month, I have read letters to the editors of local papers, heard comments to radio talk show hosts and have heard it repeated on the streets many times, “Why can’t we use these mountains of storm debris for coastal restoration?” The answer to that question is not very simple. In a post- Katrina and Rita report to the Louisiana Recovery Authority, Providence Engineering reported these findings.
